Lab Services and DME FAQ

Q:    Where do I send a HealthPlus member for lab services?

A:    Use Joint Venture Hospital Labs (JVHL) or Quest Diagnostics.

Q:    How do I arrange for STAT testing?

A:    JVHL or Quest Diagnostics will pick up STAT specimens from your office or you may send the patient with a STAT order to a JVHL or Quest Patient Service Center. Results will be available within 4 hours of pickup or testing.

 

Q:    Can I provide any lab services in my office?

A:    Yes. Specific lab procedures considered basic to a physician’s office can be performed. Lab services performed in your office that are not approved will be denied.

 

Q:    May I draw specimens in my office?

A:    Yes. Please send specimens to JVHL or Quest Diagnostics for testing.

 

Q:    Where do I refer a member for DME or P&O services/supplies?

A:    Please refer to the DME/P&O section of the HealthPlus Provider Directory  for locations.

Q:    Where do I refer a non-Medicaid member for DME or P&O supplies and services when the member is traveling?

A:    The DME Competitive Bid  web site provides a list of DME and P&O suppliers outside of the Flint area.
