HealthPlus members can obtain the names of participating Primary Care Physicians (PCP) by utilizing the HealthPlus provider directory .
A member can select a PCP who is represented in the provider directory, as accepting new patients. The member has the option of selecting 1 PCP to serve the entire family or to select a different PCP for each member. Though a PCP may be accepting new patients, it is important for a member to under the population the PCP serves, as some practices may have exceptions to their accepting status.
HealthPlus recognizes the following variations in accepting status:
A member may select or change their PCP through the HealthPlus website or by contacting Customer Service. Upon making a selection, members are encouraged to contact the new PCP’s office to schedule an initial visit.
Upon receiving notification that you have been selected by a HealthPlus member to serve as their PCP, please schedule a new patient visit, as soon as possible. This will provide you the opportunity to establish a relationship with your new patient, discuss the importance of prevention and wellness and provide expectations for communication of healthcare needs, during and after normal business hours.
