HealthPlus is contracted with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to administer Medicare Part C and Part D programs.
CMS requires all Medicare Advantage and Part D Plans to ensure that their employees, Board members, and the employees of first-tier/downstream/related entities (FDRs) complete Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) and General Compliance training. HealthPlus FDRs include all providers (physicians, pharmacies, health care facilities) and all organizations contracted to perform administrative functions related to the Medicare Program.
HealthPlus utilizes CMS’ FWA/General Compliance training and education module. The training runs approximately 30 minutes. This module must be used to comply with this training requirement.
CMS regulations indicate that providers “who have met the fraud, waste, and abuse certification requirements through enrollment into Parts A & B of the Medicare program or through accreditation as a supplier of Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) are deemed to have met the FWA training and educational requirements."
For pharmacy chains, each individual location must be enrolled into Medicare Part A or B to be deemed.
If you have any questions regarding these requirements or the training materials, please contact HealthPlus’ Compliance Department at (810) 733-1927.
