HealthPlus of Michigan provides MIChild services under its Commercial HMO for 1700 members in Arenac, Bay, Genesee, Iosco, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Saginaw, St. Clair, Shiawassee, Tuscola, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.
MIChild is a health insurance program. It is for uninsured children of Michigan’s working families.
MIChild covers many services that include but are not limited to the following:
- Regular checkups
- Shots (immunizations)
- Emergency care
- Dental care
- Hospital care
- Prenatal care and delivery
- Vision and hearing
- Mental health and substance abuse services
- Stop smoking programs
There are no copays or deductibles for services provided under the MIChild program.
If your child qualifies, you pay a monthly premium of only $10. Even if you have more than one child you pay only $10 a month for the family. To qualify, children must:
- Be citizens of the U.S. (some legal immigrants qualify)
- Be under 19 years old
- Have no health insurance
- Meet the income requirements
