HealthPlus of Michigan provides MIChild services under its Commercial HMO for over 840 members in Genesee, Lapeer, Shiawassee, Oakland, Saginaw, Bay, and Tuscola Counties.
MIChild is a health insurance program. It is for uninsured children of Michigan’s working families.
MIChild covers many services that include but are not limited to the following:
- Regular checkups
- Shots (immunizations)
- Emergency care
- Dental care
- Pharmacy
- Hospital care
- Prenatal care and delivery
- Vision and hearing
- Mental health and substance abuse services
There are no copays or deductibles for services provided under the MIChild program.
If your child qualifies, you pay a monthly premium of only $10. Even if you have more than one child you pay only $10 a month for the family. To qualify, children must:
- Be citizens of the U.S. (some legal immigrants qualify)
- Be under 19 years old
- Have no health insurance
- Meet the income requirements
